Services We Offer

What we build in Tequesta

Kitchens and bathrooms in full, including the plumbing and electrical they run on. Holiday Kitchens cabinetry, stone templated once the cabinets are set, tile and proper waterproofing, lighting, interior work through the rest of the house, and handyman jobs on their own.

A village that runs itself

This is its own municipality, up at the northern tip of the county. The first practical consequence is the permit. Work that moves plumbing or electrical is applied for through the Village of Tequesta, not the Town of Jupiter next door and not the county. That trips people up regularly, because everything around here is one or the other. We establish it before quoting and we make the application.

The housing runs from the 1950s and 60s onward. There is a good stock of older single-family houses along the Loxahatchee River and the streets behind it – solid places with small, closed-off kitchens built for the way people cooked seventy years ago. Then there are the condominiums, the newer builds, and the golf and waterfront communities up towards the Martin County line, Turtle Creek among them. Opening up one of those older kitchens is some of the most satisfying work we do, and it is usually the single best change you can make to that kind of house.

Close to the water, and it shows

Salt air is hard on hardware and finishes here. We steer towards stainless and solid brass, properly sealed stone, and cabinet finishes that do not mind humidity, and away from the things that pit and peel a year in. If you want to know which of the cheaper options will look tired by next season, ask us and we will tell you.

Hand us the keys and go north

The village empties out in the summer and a large share of our work happens in exactly that window, in houses that are quiet. If you are away from May to October, that is the easiest remodel you will ever commission: the design and the selections while you are still here in spring, or over video and a box of samples if you have already gone; then the keys; then progress photographs as it happens; then a finished kitchen or bathroom waiting when you come back. Many associations around here restrict renovation work to the off-season anyway, and the rules vary from one building to the next, so we schedule around those calendars rather than fighting them.

What you can expect from us

You deal with Steve McKenna from the first walk-round to the last item on the snagging list. Cabinets are American-made Holiday Kitchens with a limited lifetime warranty, fitted by our own crew. Every cabinet is checked in a climate-controlled warehouse and delivered when we are ready to install it, not left standing in a driveway. Waterproofing goes in properly behind the tile, which in Florida is where bathrooms fail and is the part you will never see. Five years of written warranty covers the workmanship.

What people in the village ask

Village, town or county – who issues my permit?

The Village of Tequesta, for work inside the village. It is a common mix-up because so much of the surrounding area is either Jupiter or unincorporated county, with different processes and different timelines. We sort it out before quoting.

Can you work while we are up north?

Yes, and a good part of our year is exactly that. Selections before you leave, keys to us, photographs while it happens, finished when you are back.

What actually survives this close to the river and the ocean?

Stainless and solid-brass fittings, quartz or well-sealed natural stone, and good cabinet finishes. We will be honest about which of the cheaper choices will disappoint you.

Ring 561-244-9960 and we will come and look at the room, or send the form on this page.
