Delray Beach Kitchen & Bath Remodeling
Let us take on your Delray Beach kitchen or bathroom, whichever side of the interstate you are on. Topnotch Remodeling is Florida State Certified, license CRC1332966, and has been doing this for over thirty years. Call 561-244-9960 and you will speak to Steve McKenna, the owner, who quotes every job himself rather than handing you to a salesman.
Services We Offer
The work we do
Kitchen remodeling and bathroom renovations from design to final trim, including the plumbing and electrical they rely on. Holiday Kitchens cabinetry, countertops templated to the installed cabinets, tile and modern waterproofing, lighting, interior work in any room, and handyman jobs when that is all that is required.
Delray Beach: the avenue one way, country clubs the other
Delray is two markets that happen to share a name, and yours decides how the job runs.
East of the interstate, towards the ocean, the houses are largely 1950s to 1970s, mixed in with beachside condominium buildings and the streets around the avenue. Those are the jobs where a closed-off kitchen wants opening up and where a bathroom has usually been renovated once already, badly, by somebody who tiled over a problem. Permits go through the city’s own building department.
Head west and the character changes entirely: Addison Reserve, Mizner Country Club, The Bridges, Stone Creek Ranch and their neighbors. Two things worth knowing there. Most of them are unincorporated Palm Beach County rather than the city, so the permit is a county application despite the Delray address. And each club layers its own contractor registration, insurance certificates, gate access and working hours on top. We are glad to quote in any of them, and we will tell you which rules apply before we start rather than after.
Of the clubs, Seagate is the one most reliably inside the city limits – a useful example of why we check the address rather than assuming.
Remodeling in a Delray Beach condominium
A condo bathroom is a different animal from a house bathroom, and the difference is rarely the tile. There is a board to satisfy, an approval packet before anything starts, a service elevator with a booking sheet, delivery windows, work hours that shorten in season, and plumbing that belongs to a shared stack running through other people’s apartments. Get any of that wrong and a three-week job becomes a three-month argument.
Give us the building’s rules with the plans. We will build the program around them and deal with the management company directly.
Salt air decides half the specification
This close to the Atlantic, finishes have a harder life than the brochure suggests. Plated hardware pits. Unsealed stone stains. Cabinet finishes that shrug off humidity inland will not here. We steer towards stainless and solid brass, properly sealed surfaces and extraction that genuinely shifts moisture, and we would rather explain why than quietly substitute something cheaper.
Whether or not you are here in July
If you head north for the summer, that is the easiest remodel available to you: choose everything in spring, leave a key, follow it in photographs, come back to a finished room. Many buildings here would rather the disruptive work happened out of season anyway, and no two sets of rules are the same, so we check yours. If you are here all year, we contain the dust properly and keep the house liveable, which is a different discipline and one we have practiced for decades.
Asked before they hire us
My address says Delray but I am west of the turnpike. City or county permit?
County, in most cases. It is the single most common surprise out there, and it changes the timeline rather than the price. We confirm it at the quotation stage.
The board wants an approval packet before anything starts. Can you supply it?
Yes, and it is routine. License, insurance certificates, the schedule, the crew, the scope in the format the management company wants it. Send us the form.
How much can we open up a 1960s beachside house?
More than you would think, but not everything. Which walls can go depends on what they carry, and in a house of that age there is often a structural surprise. We establish that properly before quoting so the plan you approve is the plan you get.
