Services We Offer

The jobs we do in Boynton

We do kitchens and bathrooms end to end, and we do the plumbing and electrical that go with them. That takes in Holiday Kitchens cabinetry, stone templated once the cabinets are in, tile and waterproofing, lighting, interior work elsewhere in the house, and handyman jobs on their own.

Two halves of Boynton Beach, wanting different things

Nearer the coast the housing is older and smaller, and the work is mostly about undoing decisions made decades ago: a kitchen shut behind a wall, a bathroom tiled over rather than rebuilt, a layout designed for a household that no longer exists. Permits there go through the city’s own building department.

West of the turnpike is a different world of newer, planned, largely gated communities – the Valencia developments, the Canyon communities and their neighbors. Most of them are unincorporated Palm Beach County, whatever the mailing address says, so the permit is a county application. Nearly all of them run an architectural review committee that wants to see your plans before a tool comes out of the van, along with contractor registration and proof of insurance. We handle that paperwork routinely.

Remodeling in a Boynton Beach 55+ community

A large share of the western communities here are active-adult, and that changes the brief in ways worth saying out loud.

Design for how the house will be used in fifteen years, not just next spring. A curbless shower is easier to walk into and looks better than the alternative you would have to retrofit later. Grab bars belong where someone actually reaches, fitted into blocking that will hold, and modern ones look nothing like hospital fittings. Drawers beat low cupboards, because a drawer comes to you and a cupboard makes you kneel. Lighting under the wall units matters more every year. Lever handles beat knobs.

None of that has to look clinical. Done properly it simply looks like a good kitchen or a good bathroom that happens to be easy to live with, and it protects the value of the work.

What a community’s rules will ask of you

Approval before starting, a contractor who is registered and insured with the association, work inside set hours, no deliveries at the weekend, and in some communities a seasonal restriction on noisy work. Every association words it differently. Send us the rules with the plans and we will schedule around them rather than discovering a restriction halfway through.

Here all year, or not

If you are north for part of the year, the simplest version of this job is the one that happens while you are away: selections in spring, a key, photographs as it progresses, a finished room on your return. Plenty of associations here would rather the noise happened in the quiet months in any case. If you are here year-round, we seal the work area properly, keep the house usable throughout, and clear up at the end of each day.

Questions from Boynton owners

My community has an architectural review committee. Who deals with it?

We do, alongside you. They generally want scope, drawings, our license and insurance certificates, and a schedule. It is a familiar process and it goes faster when it is submitted properly the first time.

Can a standard tub become a walk-in shower?

Usually, and it is one of the most requested jobs out here. The work is in the waterproofing and the drain, not the tile, and a curbless entry needs the floor dealt with correctly. Done right it is the change people say they should have made years earlier.

We are west of the turnpike. Does the county take longer than the city?

Sometimes, and it varies with the season. We build the real timeline into the schedule instead of quoting an optimistic one and apologising later.
